Who we are
Met Union is the students’ union (SU) for students at London Met. We are independent, meaning we are separate to the university. We exist to represent your interests, provide opportunities, employment, advice and support. We are your friend and guide while you’re studying.
All London Met students are automatically members of the SU. Once you’re enrolled, you can get involved and access our support straight away.
Opportunities and ways to get involved
There are lots of ways! You can become a representative, gathering feedback from your course mates and working with us to make things better. You can join a student society / group, or even create your own. You can apply for a job with us, get involved in volunteering or just come and hang out in our social space. You can also visit us online or in person to have all your questions answered and find the advice and support you need... and much more!
Yes, you can join as many as you like! You may also be auto-enrolled into an academic society for your course and we are looking for students to take a lead in these new groups. There will be funding and resources available and loads of support to help you build community with students on your course. Please email us on studentcommunities@londonmet.ac.uk to find out more.
It’s super easy to start your own! Doing so is a great way to make new friends with similar interests while developing new skills. There are thousands of students at London Met, so even if your interest is niche, there will be others who love it too! Contact us at studentcommunities@londonmet.ac.uk to get started.
Advice and support
Our advice service is entirely independent from the university, free and confidential. We are here to support you when things go wrong. For example, if you have been suspended, are involved in a student conduct procedure or wish to make a complaint about your course, we can advise you on what to do.
