Get Involved

Your union is powered by you. There’s so many different ways to get involved and make your voice heard.

Student Societies & Liberation Groups

Find your community and lead the way.

Joining a student group is one of the best ways to settle into university life. Whether you want to connect with fellow students through shared academic interests, cultural backgrounds, hobbies, or faiths, there is a space for you here.

  • Join a Society: Browse our diverse range of active student-led groups, or get in touch to find out how easily you can start your own.
  • Get Involved in Liberation Groups: Stand up for equity and inclusion by joining groups dedicated to representing underrepresented student communities.
  • Develop Leadership Skills: Step into a committee role to gain hands-on experience in event planning, budgeting, and community building.

Academic Student Reps

Shape your course and enhance your learning experience.

Student Representatives are the vital link between students and university staff. By working directly with teaching teams, Course Reps ensure your feedback leads to real, practical improvements in how your course is run. Each course has a rep for each year of study.

  • Have Your Say: Pass on constructive feedback about your modules, timetabling, resources, and assessments.
  • Become a Rep: Represent your peers, develop key negotiation and public speaking skills, and boost your CV.
  • Make Lasting Change: Help drive positive academic changes that benefit both your current cohort and future students.
