Welcome Week at Met Union
We know that starting university and taking in all the Welcome Week information can feel overwhelming. We’re here to make things as smooth, simple, and stress-free for you as possible!
At Met Union, we do Welcome Week differently. You're already in the best city in the world. Our job isn't to reinvent the wheel, it's to do whatever we can to make the transition as simple as possible while signposting you to everything the university and London has to offer.
Here is how we’ll be supporting you:
- A Warm Welcome on Day One: As soon as you arrive to pick up your student ID card, you’ll find us in the SU Departure Lounge. We’ll be on hand to say hello and guide you straight to your course induction!
- Introducing Met Union: During your induction, you’ll watch a quick Welcome video from us covering how Met Union can help make your time at London Met truly amazing.
- Course-Based Icebreakers: We know that making new friends can feel daunting, so we've teamed up with your course leaders to create a fun, course-based welcome activity. It’s built right into your timetable, you don't need to book anything. We'll see you in class!
- Catch Us in the Met Café: Throughout the first week of Welcome, drop by our stand in the Met Café at lunchtime. Whether you have a quick question or just want a friendly chat, we’ll be there for you.
- Visit Your SU Building: You’re always welcome to pop into the Students’ Union building (located close to The Rocket entrance - you can’t miss us, look for the huge banner outside!). We run fun activities throughout the term, lunchtime activities every day, and our team is here if you need help with anything at all.
Remember, all of this is already built into your induction timetable, so you don't need to do a single thing to sign up. Just show up, enjoy yourself, and let us take care of the rest!
